Join the University of Alberta Mixed Chorus along its 68th annual tour, from April 28 to May 5, 2012. Once again the UAMC is pleased to present, to communities across Alberta and Saskatchewan, an engaging assortment of choral work. Featured with the UAMC is the Faculty of Education Handbell Ringers. This group of 14 talented individuals plays one of Canada’s largest collections of handbells and chimes, ranging from the 8oz G8 to the 25lbs F2.

In 1947, Professor R. S. Eaton began an association with the chorus that was to last twenty-one years. Under his direction, the Mixed Chorus developed into a loyal and cohesive unit. When alumni of the Chorus asked the Dr. Eaton to form a choir that they could sing in after leaving the university, he formed the University Singers, later renamed the Richard Eaton Singers in his honour. In January of 1968, Professor Eaton’s long association with the Chorus came to an end when he suddenly passed away while on leave. This year, the Chorus’ performances are dedicated to Professor Eaton’s memory.
